James R. Halverson is please to announce that Thomas L. Mahlen, Jr. has become a shareholder and officer in their Firm. The new name of the firm is Halverson & Mahlen, P.C. The Firm is also please to announce Jaclyn S. Laferriere has associated with the Firm.

Mr. Mahlen was raised in Danbury, Wisconsin and is a member of the Montana Bar. He received his B.A.. degree from the University of Wisconsin – Superior in 2004 and his law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2007. Tom has been involved in construction defect cases, insurance coverage disputes and coverage analysis, declaratory judgment actions, complex contractual actions, auto and truck collision cases, and employment disputes. Tom has assisted in defending several local and regional businesses against allegations of age, gender, race, and disability discrimination under state and federal law, and has experience practicing before the Montana Human Rights Bureau, the Montana Human Rights Commission, and the Department of Labor-Hearings Bureau. Tom is well-versed regarding procedural and substantive issues facing employers in these cases.

Ms. Laferriere was raised in Bozeman, Montana and is a member of Montana Bar. She received her B.S. degree from Montana State University in 2007 and her law degree from Vermont Law School in 2010. In private practice she will concentrate on litigation in the areas of personal injury and commercial law.
